Speech Reflection

Speeches

What did you talk about? I talked about the issues in our school.

How did you feel while talking? I felt nervous.

What was hard about it? making sure i'm saying the right words.

What was easy about it? Nothing

Could you do it again? I cloud but it would be hard and nerve racking.

While I was doing my speech I felt nervous and scared that I was going to say the wrong things.
Here is my speech

Issues within our school

Fights, bullying, stealing, smoking and more all of these things are found in our school, Why? OUR school is meant to be a safe and happy place, when students come to school for reasons that are not appropriate it is not okay. SO maybe if you are not here for the right reasons why are you here at all? Kia ora my name is Mihipeka and I am here to talk about the problems within our school.

Fighting and bullying

when I walk around my school I hear people say rude and disgusting things to other people from other nations. When people confront them about what they say, they say it was a joke or make them feel bad for telling a teacher “Snitch snitch they say or you're a snitch, snitches get stitches’ your not a snitch your standing up for yourself. I hate it when people stand there letting other people make fun of them or calling them names, stand up for yourself no matter the age or size.

Fighting

When it comes to fighting there is a lot of this in our school there is at least one fight a week . i'm not gonna stand here and say i've never wanted to fight someone, I have multiple times but i never wanted to do it for fun so What is the reason for fighting for fun? For entertainment? For a reason? Or no reason at all it just happens?

Stealing

When I hear people talking about people stealing other people's property it isn't very nice to know that people I see everyday are stealing other people's property. When you steal it causes fights and hatred between people.

Smoking

In our school there are people vaping and smoking, why do people do this? Do you do it to be cool? Do you do it for fun, why are you doing this? Did you know smoking causes cancer, heart disease, strokes and lung diseases

Conclusion

Lastly I wanted to ask if you would like to be in a school that does all these things? When we are at school make sure you are here for the right reasons. Thank you for listening to my speech.

Congratulation for following through and delivering your speech to your peers, that is such an achievement! Public speaking is one of the hardest things to do and most people's greatest fears. It's completely normal to be nervous, everyone is. Often having a little bit of nervous tension actually helps you deliver a better speech.

You highlighted some important topics about life at school. We need people like you to be calling people out for not doing the right thing. How do you think we could help each other to be more positive?
